Though it’s clearly a follow-up to the company’s XC10 model, introduced in 2015, Canon is positioning the XC15 very differently. When the XC10 was announced Canon presented it as a camera that could bridge the gap for those who needed to shoot both video and stills, emphasizing its 12MP still capture capability.

There is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro CC is the best movie editing software for Mac user. However, its supported video formats and resolution are limited. How to convert Canon XC15 MXF to Final Cut Pro X or Premiere Pro CC?

Step 1: Load Canon XC15 MXF footage

Launch the Mac MXF Converter program and click “Add ” button to import the Canon XC15 MXF files to the top MXF to FCP X/Premiere Pro CC Converter Mac. Batch conversion is supported.

Step 2: Select output format

Click on the “Format” bar and get the dropdown menu, then move your pointer to choose “Final Cut Pro> Apple PreRes 422″ or “Apple ProRes 422 HQ” or “Apple ProRes 4444″ as the output format for Final Cut Pro X.

Click “Format” pull down list to select “Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas> MPEG-2(*.mpg)” as the best video format for Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

Tip: If you want to set some parameters for the output profile, you could click the “Settings” button to set the output bitrate, encode, frame rate, resolution, sample rate, channels, etc.

Step 3: Start conversion

Tap Convert button to start transcoding Canon XC15 MXF to ProRes .mov for Final Cut Pro X or MPEG-2 .mpg for Premiere Pro CC on Mac OS X.
